As a Structural Substation Engineer, you will have the opportunity to:

- Continuously develop knowledge and provide guidance and direction on design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies, providing technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines.
- Independently apply knowledge and comply with B&V quality program relative to assigned tasks; may be responsible for ensuring compliance with the program, providing guidance and direction to others, supporting continuous improvement and change management efforts.
- Prepare complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects; perform complex research and recommend equipment and/or materials selection; oversee collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work; prepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles; manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements; apply advanced engineering techniques and analysis; delegate appropriate tasks to lower level team members; review lower level engineering work or assignments;
lead production teams, coordinate multiple discipline activity, and serve as the responsible charge for a project. - Actively coordinate with all other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects.
- Assist with identification of key client interests and drivers on low to moderately complex projects; communicate client interests and drivers to project team members and develop approaches to accommodate these concerns; provide support to business development or pursuit activities and may offer other services to clients.
- Act as a technical specialist, providing consultation and guidance to project teams in a particular practice area; design a complete project of moderately complex scope or support multiple projects on complex technical challenges; foster knowledge management and provide mentoring; develop and apply advanced engineering concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems.
- Assist with performance management process, mentoring, recognition, and any corrective actions required; participate in career planning and learning and development; mentor lower-level professionals and identify successors to train in role specifics.
- Assist with resource management strategy and have responsibility of engineering resources for small groups of a single discipline.
- May be accountable for some administrative responsibilities that include but aren't limited to:
- Ensuring policies, procedures and processes are effectively implemented and communicated for the work group.
- Ensuring adherence to corporate and division programs.
- Approving timesheets and expense reports.
- Valid PE license
- Experience with the design of utility‑scale electrical substations
- Structural design of electrical substation steel structures and their foundations
- Basic structural steel and concrete experience using 3D analysis and design software such as
- RISA 3D or STAAD Pro
- Basic foundation design experience using analysis and design software such as L‑Pile and RISA Foundation, SP‑Mats, and SP‑Col
