Location: Tualatin, Oregon (Onsite)
Role OverviewThis position involves the design and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging for advanced semiconductor manufacturing. The role requires conducting feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of next‑generation wet processing equipment, translating subsystem requirements into robust mechanical solutions and supporting critical new product introduction programs.
Key Responsibilities- Design and analyze mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Perform engineering analysis, including tolerance analysis, thermal‑mechanical considerations, and structural integrity.
- Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
- Provide design information to drafting for packaging documentation.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful subsystem integration.
- Support prototype build, system integration, debug, and validation activities.
- Direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing, and prototype fabrication.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: 6+ years of experience for bachelor’s degree holder; or advanced degree with 2+ years of professional experience; or equivalent experience. A solid foundation in mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes is necessary.
Technical Skills- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as Siemens NX, CREO, or Inventor.
- Experience with drawing creation, FEA, and CFD modeling.
- Skills in MATLAB and Simulink.
- Knowledge of MS Office.
- Strong hands‑on mechanical skills with the ability to use basic hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Experience in fluidic design.
- Experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Familiarity with new product development (NPI).
- Knowledge of DFx principles (reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, safety).
- Experience in project management or problem‑solving while managing time and multiple priorities.
