Impact
At Lam, as an Environmental Engineer, you're instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental safety programs and policies. Ensuring compliance with regulations, you'll perform safety inspections, conduct training sessions, and oversee hazardous waste vendors and processes. Your expertise extends to life safety, workplace ergonomics, and monitoring industrial health compliance. Acting as a liaison with regulatory agencies, you'll not only stay current but also reinforce Lam's commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
Responsibilities- Lead environmental compliance and sustainability programs for the Tualatin site, including air, water, waste, and other environmental initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits, policies, procedures, and ISO
14001 requirements while driving continuous program improvement. - Interpret regulatory requirements and permit obligations, providing guidance and recommendations to maintain compliance with current and emerging regulations.
- Manage environmental projects and support operational activities that minimize pollution and promote environmental stewardship.
- Maintain and enhance the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) management system to support site-wide compliance objectives.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to effectively implement environmental compliance programs and sustainability initiatives.
- Integrate environmental requirements into business operations and foster a culture of environmental responsibility across the organization.
- Minimum of 8years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3years experience; or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) experience in environmental engineering, environmental science, environmental management, or a related field; semiconductor industry experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of wastewater treatment systems and air scrubber functions and operations.
- Prior experience with managing air emissions permits, wastewater treatment permits, stormwater management, and waste management.
- Knowledge of Federal and Oregon environmental regulations and requirements.
- Hazard risk assessment experience.
- Must be comfortable working in a laboratory, clean room, and construction environments.
