We are seeking a Production Manager to join our hard working and fast-paced team. The Production Manager is responsible for managing the planning, directing, coordinating and controlling of bakery production and for supervising employment, training and progressive discipline for employees in the plant manufacturing area.
Responsibilities- Manage Bakery Production.
- Manage plant Production Budget.
- Establish specific goals and standards for each area of responsibility aligned with company policies and objectives.
- Staff the bakery and establish production schedules.
- Run test dough to assist in developing new products.
- Perform tasks requiring independent knowledge of the baking process and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement in operations and cost control.
- Ensure safety practices and compliance in the plant.
- Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to company policies.
- Support Franz Core Values.
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible production supervision experience.
- Professional level knowledge in a specialized field equivalent to a 4 year college degree.
- Enrolled in or completed the AIB 16 week class or the Certified Bakers program.
- Demonstrated knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMP, allergen, traceability and other compliance requirements of a commercial bakery.
- Experience managing in a union environment is desirable.
- Direct oversight of SOPs within department.
- High level of analytical ability and ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Good computer skills (Windows Office, Outlook, Excel).
