This role focuses on fabricating and assembling complex plastic tube products, primarily using PFA tubing, to meet precise design specifications. You will use specialized tools and equipment to fuse, cut, form, bend, and shape tubing, while working from detailed drawings and work orders in a collaborative, quality-focused environment.
Responsibilities- Fabricate and assemble complex plastic tube products using techniques to fuse, cut, form, bend, and shape plastic (primarily PFA) tubing according to precise design specifications.
- Use hand tools, bench top welders, and precision equipment to form and assemble PFA tubes safely and accurately.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, prints, assembly drawings, PNIDs, and work orders to carry out design specifications for each product.
- Measure components and assemblies using rulers, calipers, protractors, and other measurement tools to ensure dimensional accuracy and repeatability.
- Perform mechanical assembly work, including tube bending and production assembly, in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
- Operate relevant machines and equipment to support tube fabrication and assembly processes.
- Work in a team environment to share best practices, enhance techniques, and improve process repeatability.
- Collaborate with the area lead to prioritize workload and align daily tasks with production schedules.
- Notify the area lead of material shortages, equipment issues, or other problems that may affect the production schedule.
- Maintain cleanroom and fabrication area standards, including proper handling and cleanliness of tools, materials, and finished products.
- Gown up and perform assembly tasks in a cleanroom environment when required.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, the area lead, and management to support smooth production flow and continuous improvement.
- Multi-task across different assembly and fabrication activities while maintaining focus on quality and safety.
- Hands-on experience with tube bending and mechanical assembly.
- Proficiency using measurement equipment such as rulers, calipers, protractors, and other measuring tools.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, assembly drawings, and PNIDs.
- Experience working in assembly within a cleanroom environment.
- Competence in using hand tools, bench top welders, and precision equipment for tube forming and assembly.
- Familiarity with production, cleanroom, and assembly operations.
- Ability to operate machines and equipment related to tube fabrication and mechanical assembly.
- Strong basic math skills to support accurate measurement and layout work.
- Capability to communicate effectively with coworkers, area leads, and management.
- Self-starter and self-motivated approach to daily tasks.
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a team environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with plastic tubing, especially PFA, in fabrication or assembly settings.
- Experience in cleanroom production or manufacturing environments.
- Comfort working with corrosion-resistant and ultrapure fluid handling components.
- Exposure to industries such as electronics, chemical processing, water and wastewater treatment, metal finishing, pollution control, life sciences, or construction-related mechanical systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to evolving production processes.
