Position: GROB DEPARTMENT LEAD

The Grob Cell Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the Grob machining cell, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. This role serves as a hands-on leader, supporting operators, optimizing workflows, and acting as a key point of communication between team members and management.

Key Responsibilities

Create a culture of Safety and accountability on the Team as well as individual work assignments

Adhere to all quality and safety standards within the department

Enforce safety procedures and guidelines, and housekeeping practices

Organize, plan and prioritize shift workload and activities in the functional area

Communicate with supervisors and other leads to coordinate operations and activities within or between shifts and other functional areas

Identify, recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality and efficiency

Provide guidance and expert advice on technical, systems-, or process- related topics

Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members

Identify training needs, and conducts training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures

Observe technical performance of the area staff and provides on the spot guidance

Run and set up machines as needed

Motivate team members to meet deadlines and productivity goals

Provide input to the supervisor for employee performance reviews

Maintain clean and organized work area with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and utilization

Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance

Adhere to all company policies and operational procedures

Perform additional tasks as assigned

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)

5+ years of CNC machining experience, preferably with 5-axis machines

Proven leadership or lead experience in a manufacturing environment

Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

Experience with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges)

Familiarity with CNC programming and troubleshooting

Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with multi-axis machining (4- or 5-axis)

Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience

Prior experience in aerospace, automotive, or high-precision manufacturing
