Production | Metal Racking - Day Shift

Our client is seeking a motivated and dependable Shop Helper to support daily manufacturing operations at our Tualatin facility. The Shop Helper works closely with production teams to maintain workflow, ensure materials are available, keep work areas organized, and support a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.

Schedule:

Mon-Fri 6 AM-3 PM, there will be overtime

Pay: $20/hr

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist production personnel with day-to-day shop activities.
• Move raw materials, parts, and finished products throughout the facility.
• Prepare and stage materials for fabrication and production.
• Load and unload trucks and delivery vehicles as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Operate hand tools and other basic shop equipment safely.
• Assist with inventory control and material handling tasks.
• Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
• Support various departments with general labor duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs)

• HS Diploma/GED
• Ability to work outside and then undercover in a production facility where the doors are open at all times
• Must be safety conscious and be able to understand how to work around forklifts and equipment constantly moving
• The ability to communicate problems or needs to leads and supervisors
• The ability to lift to 50 pounds from ground to shoulder height or higher
• Must be physically able to stand for long periods (length of shift) in open air environment: wear PPE; maintain a safe work environment
• PPE provided by you:
  Steel toe boots with metatarsal guards are required (Express has a program to help with the purchase of these items)
• PPE provided by client:
  Hard hat, gloves, high vis jacket/vest, and protective glasses

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Ability to follow instructions and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
