Assembler – Fiber Optic Production

This role focuses on assembling fiber optic cables and related products in a clean manufacturing environment. You will work with small parts, wires, and cables, following detailed instructions to produce high-quality photonic assemblies. The position requires prior manufacturing experience, comfort working with hand tools, and the ability to stand for extended periods while maintaining accuracy and productivity.

• Follow established assembly instructions and procedures for fiber optic cables and related products.
• Work with small parts, wires, and cables to perform precise assembly tasks.
• Maintain minimum production quotas based on time and/or piece count for assigned jobs.
• Comply with all safety requirements, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
• Develop an intermediate level understanding of assembly tools and their proper use.
• Build entry-level component identification skills and product knowledge for fiber optic assemblies.
• Develop an intermediate level understanding of standard and metric measurements and use conversion tools accurately.
• Perform all tasks thoroughly and accurately to ensure consistent product quality.
• Report any irregularities related to daily goals, quality issues, or delays to production supervision or production management.
• Use basic problem-solving skills to identify issues, take appropriate action, and contribute to process improvements.
• Work effectively as part of a production team to meet shared goals and deadlines.

• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience, preferably in small-part assembly.
• Experience using hand tools in a production or assembly environment.
• Comfort working with small parts, wires, cables, and photonic assemblies.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work overtime on Fridays, typically 5–8 hours as needed.
• Basic measurement skills using both standard and metric units, including use of conversion tools.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly for verbal and written communication.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Good manual dexterity and strong eye–hand coordination.
• High level of attention to detail to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Ability to reason and analyze information to support problem-solving.
• ITAR compliance eligibility.

• Experience with small part assembly in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Familiarity with measurement tools and hand tools used in assembly work.
• Exposure to production processes involving blueprints, wiring, schematics, and electrical components.
• Experience using wire crimpers, wire strippers, and performing panel wiring and crimping.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods and to lift, stoop, and bend as needed during the workday.
• Highly dependable with a strong work ethic and consistent reliability.
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset, able to collaborate with others.
• Interest in learning photonic cable assembly and expanding technical skills over time.
