American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week day shift contract requiring C-section circulating experience and advanced fetal monitoring certification.

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend rotation required every 3rd weekend
• Holiday coverage required between Labor Day and Thanksgiving (specific dates TBD)
• Floating required within the site and across the health system
• Epic EMR experience required
• Manages high-risk deliveries, C-section circulating and scrubbing, VBAC, and antepartum/postpartum care
• Cares for patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and preterm labor

• Active Oregon RN license or proof of application and fingerprinting required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required; ACLS and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification (AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, or Relias Fetal Heart Monitoring) also required
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery specialty experience required
• C-section and circulating experience required
• Scrub experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required, including completion of an Epic Test-Out Module
• One professional reference from a Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Manager required, preferably within the last year
• No felony convictions accepted

• Provide comprehensive L&D nursing care including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
• Perform fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock management
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Terbutaline
• Support newborn care including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and thermoregulation
• Must complete any assigned education within one week of assignment start
• Refusal to float as requested will result in contract cancellation
• Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, with no RTO allowed during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• Local candidates are not accepted; must reside more than 50 miles from any facility within the system
• Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
• Low census mandatory cancellation policy allows one shift per two-week pay period to be cancelled without cause or penalty, with 1.5 hours notice required before shift start
