Overview A manufacturing organization is seeking a Quality Technician to support the DMR (Defective Material Report) / Material Review Board (MRB) function. This role is responsible for managing nonconforming material processes, coordinating MRB activities, and supporting quality assurance efforts for electronic components and assemblies.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to review and disposition nonconforming materials
  • Manage and maintain accurate documentation including DMRs, NCRs, dispositions, and corrective actions
  • Ensure timely processing of nonconforming material to minimize production and supply chain impact
  • Act as a liaison between Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams
  • Investigate nonconforming electronic components and assemblies and support root cause analysis
  • Apply quality tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and Pareto analysis
  • Assist with implementation and verification of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
  • Track, analyze, and report MRB metrics and quality trends
  • Perform inspections and evaluations to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001)
  • Support internal and external audits related to MRB and quality processes
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality system enhancements
Required Qualifications
  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in a quality, manufacturing, or engineering environment
  • Familiarity with MRB processes, nonconformance handling, and quality documentation
  • Knowledge of ESD handling and electronic component quality requirements
  • Experience working with or alongside Quality Engineers
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment
  • Proficiency with ERP and quality management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of industry quality standards such as ISO 9001
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience inspecting electronic components or assemblies
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and technical drawings
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical device, or electronics manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with IPC standards or similar quality frameworks
  • Experience using measurement tools, microscopes, and inspection equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
