Overview A manufacturing organization is seeking a Quality Technician to support the DMR (Defective Material Report) / Material Review Board (MRB) function. This role is responsible for managing nonconforming material processes, coordinating MRB activities, and supporting quality assurance efforts for electronic components and assemblies.
Responsibilities

Coordinate and facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to review and disposition nonconforming materials
Manage and maintain accurate documentation including DMRs, NCRs, dispositions, and corrective actions
Ensure timely processing of nonconforming material to minimize production and supply chain impact
Act as a liaison between Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams
Investigate nonconforming electronic components and assemblies and support root cause analysis
Apply quality tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and Pareto analysis
Assist with implementation and verification of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
Track, analyze, and report MRB metrics and quality trends
Perform inspections and evaluations to ensure conformance to specifications
Ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001)
Support internal and external audits related to MRB and quality processes
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality system enhancements

Required Qualifications

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of experience in a quality, manufacturing, or engineering environment
Familiarity with MRB processes, nonconformance handling, and quality documentation
Knowledge of ESD handling and electronic component quality requirements
Experience working with or alongside Quality Engineers
Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment
Proficiency with ERP and quality management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Working knowledge of industry quality standards such as ISO 9001

Preferred Qualifications

Experience inspecting electronic components or assemblies
Working knowledge of GD&T and technical drawings
Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical device, or electronics manufacturing environments
Familiarity with IPC standards or similar quality frameworks
Experience using measurement tools, microscopes, and inspection equipment
Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
