The impact you’ll makeThe Gas Delivery Components team supports critical semiconductor hardware including valves, regulators, filters, manifolds, tubing assemblies, weldments, machined components, and other gas-flow control products.
The Supplier/QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring suppliers consistently deliver products that meet Lam's quality, technical, delivery, and reliability requirements. This role serves as the primary technical interface between Lam and its suppliers, driving supplier qualification, process control, manufacturing readiness, quality improvement, and issue resolution across new product introduction (NPI) and production.
What You’ll Do Supplier Qualification & Development- Lead qualification activities for new and existing suppliers.
- Assess supplier manufacturing capability, capacity, process maturity, and quality systems.
- Support supplier selection through technical and manufacturing assessments.
- Participate in supplier audits and on-site assessments.
- Drive supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Define, review, and maintain Supplier Process of Record (POR).
- Ensure supplier processes are controlled, documented, and qualified.
- Review and approve supplier process changes through established change control processes.
- Drive PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and critical feature monitoring activities.
- Lead resolution of supplier quality issues, including nonconformances, FAIR rejections, escapes, and corrective actions.
- Facilitate root cause investigations using RCCA and 8D methodologies.
- Verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
- Support supplier manufacturing investigations and process qualification activities.
- Analyze supplier performance data and drive improvements in quality, yield, and process stability.
- Assess supplier readiness to support new product introductions and production ramps.
- Identify and mitigate manufacturing, capacity, and sub-tier supplier risks.
- Support containment and recovery actions for supplier-related issues.
- Apply risk-based decision making to supplier qualification, process changes, and manufacturing challenges.
- Partner with Product Group Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Buyers, and Supplier Business Managers.
- Support sourcing decisions, capacity planning, and risk mitigation activities.
- Coordinate supplier activities across global regions and time zones.
- Provide technical leadership and clear communication to internal and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 5+ years of experience in supplier engineering, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or 3 years of experience with a Master's degree; or Ph.D without experience, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience working directly with suppliers in a technical capacity.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across global teams and time zones.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
