Responsibilities- Support the day-to-day functions of department operations.
- Achieve sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor and control all established quality assurance standards.
- Minimum:
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math: counting, addition, and subtraction
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Must be able to meet the minimum physical demands of the position
- Must be 18 or older
- Desired:
- Retail experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Second language: speaking, reading and/or writing
- Adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil codes
- Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions
- Understand the store s layout and locate products
- Inform and educate department associates about current, upcoming and special in-store promotions
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note discrepancies
- Observe scheduled shift operating hours
- Demonstrate creative merchandising
- Handle cashier functions
- Ensure compliance with merchandising, customer service, labor control, expense and supply controls, loss prevention, maintenance, safety, food safety, associate and customer engagement rules
- Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions
- Practice preventive maintenance and report items in need of repair
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents
- Report safety risks, or issues, and illegal activity
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
