Position: HOME HARDLINES/LEAD CLERK

Responsibilities
  • Support the day-to-day functions of department operations.
  • Achieve sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor and control all established quality assurance standards.
Qualifications
  • Minimum:
    • Effective communication skills
    • Knowledge of basic math: counting, addition, and subtraction
    • Ability to handle stressful situations
    • Must be able to meet the minimum physical demands of the position
    • Must be 18 or older
  • Desired:
    • Retail experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Second language: speaking, reading and/or writing
    • Adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil codes
    • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store
    • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions
    • Understand the store s layout and locate products
    • Inform and educate department associates about current, upcoming and special in-store promotions
    • Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
    • Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note discrepancies
    • Observe scheduled shift operating hours
    • Demonstrate creative merchandising
    • Handle cashier functions
    • Ensure compliance with merchandising, customer service, labor control, expense and supply controls, loss prevention, maintenance, safety, food safety, associate and customer engagement rules
    • Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions
    • Practice preventive maintenance and report items in need of repair
    • Notify management of customer or employee accidents
    • Report safety risks, or issues, and illegal activity
    • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
