Automotive Technician, Automotive Mechanic
A Brief Overview
At the front line of the Safelite experience, the Auto Glass Technician is an entrepreneurial, hands-on professional that leverages Safelite training, industry-leading tools, and technology to complete repairs, replacements, and recalibrations in the shop and on the go with Mobile Glass Shop offerings.
Responsibilities- Provide vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite Shop or Mobile Glass Shop efficiently, focusing on safety, quality, and exceptional customer service; clean customer vehicles after each job.
- Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
- Operate Safelite's tools and technologies (True Seal, Ezi-Wire, Glass Table System (GTS), chemicals, Safelite Way of Fitting, work order and customer administration systems, Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology).
- Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
- Communicate with customers in-person, via text, and phone; present, promote, and sell Safelite promotional items and services.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Competitive weekly pay, ranging from $26.50 to $35.25.

Valid state-issued driver's license required.
Safelite Safe Tech certification required.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Skills and Abilities- Ability to regularly lift/carry up to 35 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist body.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Operate a motor vehicle in accordance with laws; subject to in-cab safety camera/video surveillance.
- Maintain professionalism and passion for outstanding customer service.
- Work outside in varied weather; extended periods.
- Work with chemicals (flammable chemicals) per Safelite Way of Fitting.
- Work scheduled days with flexibility for start/end times to accommodate customers.
- Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools for recalibrations and troubleshooting.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting independently and collaboratively.
- Read, write, and interpret English language and technical directions.
- Communicate orally (phone) and written (computer or other electronic means).
- Maintain professional appearance per uniform and PPE policies.
- Willingness to maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition.
This position involves driving duties monitored via cameras, GPS, and other tracking technologies to ensure safety and compliance.
