The Maintenance Technician plays a hands-on role on the shop floor, keeping CNC turning centers, machining centers, and multi-axis equipment running safely, accurately, and on schedule. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and respond with urgency to machine downtime in a high-throughput precision machining environment. This position works on the day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the expectation of flexibility to support production needs as required.
Responsibilities
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on CNC turning centers, machining centers, and multi-axis equipment to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Respond promptly to machine downtime events, diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults, and restore production as quickly and safely as possible.
- Perform hands-on repairs including lubrication system service, coolant system maintenance, way cleaning, filter replacements, belt and coupling inspections, and basic servo and spindle diagnostics.
- Document all maintenance activities accurately in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), including work orders, preventive maintenance completions, parts used, and time to repair.
- Maintain, organize, and track spare parts inventory relevant to machine uptime, including filters, belts, seals, sensors, and other consumable components.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with machine operators and maintenance leadership regarding machine condition, repair status, and recurring issues.
- Support the installation, leveling, alignment, and commissioning of new or relocated CNC and production equipment.
