This hands-on Maintenance Technician role focuses on keeping CNC turning centers, machining centers, and multi-axis equipment running safely, accurately, and with minimal downtime. You will work primarily on the day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with flexibility to support additional hours as needed. You will spend most of your time on the shop floor, diagnosing issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring production equipment operates reliably in a high-throughput CNC precision machining environment.

Responsibilities
  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on CNC turning centers, machining centers, and multi-axis equipment to maximize uptime and equipment life.
  • Respond promptly to machine downtime events by diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults and restoring production as quickly and safely as possible.
  • Perform hands-on repairs, including lubrication system service, coolant system maintenance, way cleaning, filter replacements, belt and coupling inspections, and basic servo and spindle diagnostics.
  • Document all maintenance activities accurately in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), including work orders, preventive maintenance completions, parts used, and time to repair.
  • Maintain and organize spare parts inventory related to machine uptime, including filters, belts, seals, sensors, and other consumable components.
  • Communicate clearly with machine operators and maintenance leadership about machine condition, repair status, and recurring issues to support continuous improvement.
  • Support the installation, leveling, alignment, and commissioning of new or relocated equipment in the facility.
  • Apply troubleshooting skills to electrically controlled and mechanically actuated production equipment such as programmable automation, industrial robotics, conveyors, actuator-driven machinery, and electrically controlled grinders.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to diagnose issues and guide repairs.
  • Follow structured maintenance and lean practices, including elements of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and 5S, to keep work areas organized and equipment in optimal condition.
  • Operate forklifts or scissor lifts, when certified, to assist with rigging, machine moving, and equipment installation.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable standards and procedures in a highly regulated, precision machining environment.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2 years of equipment maintenance experience on production equipment that is electrically controlled and mechanically actuated, such as programmable automation, industrial robotics, conveyors, actuator-driven machinery, or electrically controlled grinders.
  • Hands-on experience with CNC machinery maintenance, including CNC turning centers, machining centers, and multi-axis equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication systems, coolant systems, drives, and motion components.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills, including the ability to read wiring diagrams and identify faulty components.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings related to CNC maintenance and electromechanical systems.
  • Experience documenting maintenance work in a CMMS or similar system, including work orders and preventive maintenance records.
  • Ability to organize and manage spare parts inventory such as filters, belts, seals, sensors, and consumables.
  • Clear and professional communication skills to collaborate with operators, supervisors, and other maintenance team members.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a high-throughput precision machining environment with time-sensitive production demands.
