Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire Simulator Engineer 3 with our client that is fully remote.
Job Description:
This simulator modeling engineer will be working within the Plant Services department assisting in the development of the software models that supports the control room simulator. This position will work in close collaboration with the operators and engineers to support a range of software development tasks such as updating plant models in accordance with engineering documentation. Ideal candidate is familiar with the GSE software suite (i.e., Sim Exec and JTopmeret), have experience with thermal hydraulic system codes (e.g., RELAP5 and Trace), and have experience with neutronic analysis codes (e.g., Simulate 3 and MCNP).
- High standard to accurately reflect information from engineering documentation into plant models.
- Supports development, testing and operation of the the control room simulator and other software projects.
- Develops software in accordance with the established procedures and processes to maintain configuration control.
- Documents software defects using issue tracking software.
- Provides recommended solutions when errors are encountered and seeks to identify common cause issues that affect performance of the software solution.
- Provides recommended solutions for problems using professional operational principles and company objectives.
- Works under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives.
- Collaborates with team members to ensure solutions are vetted and deliverables are of high quality.
- Performs hardware setup and maintenance such as installing computers/monitors and connecting cables.
- This may at times require limited travel to other locations outside of Corvallis at company’s expense.

Education/Certification:
A minimum of a B.S. degree inphysics, engineering or other technical degree from an accredited college or university is required.
ABET accredited engineering program preferred.
Experience- A minimum of five years of full-time software development experience is required.
