Gas Driver - Tualatin

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the transportation of materials in a safe and timely manner by applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and local roads. The professional driver will drive to and from designated locations, verify loads against shipping papers, maintain duty status records per state and federal regulations, and perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections. The driver must present a professional business image to the public and to fellow employees.

A valid commercial Class A driver’s license, Hazmat, Air Brake endorsements, and a medical card are required; packaged‑gas, straight‑truck (pumper, micro‑bulk) drivers are preferred, as are those with a Class A license and tanker endorsements. This position reports to the Site Manager or Operations Manager.

• Transport cylinders to assigned internal and external customers in a timely, safety‑conscious manner.
• Stay within all posted speed limits and comply with all DOT and company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections on the vehicle.
• Maintain the vehicle in a clean and proper condition.
• Legibly complete driver log/trip reports on a daily basis.
• Accurately record cylinders/hard‑goods transactions on customer delivery tickets and trip reports.
• Maintain good communication with supervisors and management regarding safety and customer matters.
• Operate a forklift truck as required for loading and unloading product.
• Set a positive example for employees by observing the company’s loss‑prevention policies and procedures.
• Report accidents, near misses, unsafe acts or conditions, and obey safety rules.
• Use effective time‑management tools to meet job commitments and scheduled deadlines; obtain agreement of all stakeholders to identify issues, minimize risks, ensure safety, and deliver on time.
• Participate as an active member of the local safety committee when assigned according to the rotation process.
• Fill cryogenic liquid dewar tanks.
• Provide first‑line technical support.
• Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

• Must possess a valid commercial Class A driver’s license, Hazmat, Air Brake endorsements, and a medical card; packaged‑gas/straight‑truck drivers (pumper, micro‑bulk) are required, and a Class A license with tanker endorsements is preferred.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous commercial driving experience or graduation from an accredited commercial driving school.
• Preferred one year of road experience with no moving violations for the past three years.
• Minimum age 21 with an excellent driving record.
• Ability to push a 200‑lb+ cylinder cart and bend or lift a 50‑lb+ container.
• Reading and writing proficiency in English; basic mathematical calculation skills; ability to handle receipts, read maps and road signs, and maintain duty‑status records.
• Basic administrative and problem‑solving skills.
• Flexibility with work hours.
• Capability for prolonged sitting, occasional bending, stooping, and climbing.
• Ability to work in diverse weather and working conditions.
• Preferred prior experience in the cylinder‑gas specialty chemical industry.
