Job Overview
PARR is a homebuilding supplies supplier that serves professional home builders of all sizes. The Driver Millworks role is responsible for safely loading, transporting, and delivering building materials to job sites while ensuring on‑time, in‑full delivery and maintaining safety standards. The position is based in Tualatin, OR, with a schedule of Monday‑Friday, 6am to 2:30pm, or until all daily loads have been delivered.
Responsibilities- Safely and efficiently load and unload building materials from commercial motor vehicles.
- Transport materials to destinations via public and private roads while following mileage and fuel usage reports.
- Take photos of delivered shipments after each delivery.
- Perform daily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of all equipment.
- Maintain professional relationships with customers, contractors, and vendors.
- Conduct daily safety audits, weekly brake inspections, and report any malfunctioning equipment.
- Report accidents/incidents promptly.
- Update driver’s qualification file annually as required by Federal and state regulations.
- Keep yard, warehouse, and vehicle clean and organized.
- Check loads for accuracy and ensure all materials have an invoice or Material Return Form.
- Adhere to tie‑down rules and regulations and weight, height, and length limits.
- Participate in available training and follow best practices for loading, strapping, and driving.
- Class C driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Minimum age 21 years.
- Proficient speaking, writing, and reading English.
- Current DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.
- Knowledge of vehicle safety audits and reporting according to Federal and State regulations.
- Open communication skills.
- Familiarity with GPS devices or map applications.
- Preferred driving experience within a 50‑mile radius of the primary location.
- Ability to pass a DOT pre‑placement physical.
- Physical ability to lift up to 90 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and stoop, bend, and walk.
- Vacation: 2 weeks per year starting day1, with an additional week each year up to 4 weeks.
