Job Description

Navajo Preference Employment Act In accordance with Navajo Nation and federal law, TCRHCC has implemented an affirmative action plan pursuant to the Navajo Preference in Employment Act. Overview

Position Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to perform a major segment of the accounts receivable support function through the follow‑up process of all outstanding patient accounts within the Patient Financial Services.

Qualifications Necessary Qualifications Education
  • High School diploma or GED (Technician I & II)
  • Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field (Technician II)
Experience Technician I

One year in a healthcare patient accounting setting as an Accounting Clerk/Technician, Finance Clerk, Accounts Receivable Clerk/Technician, etc.

Technician II

In addition to Technician I requirement: two years of experience in generating reports, preparing and monitoring accounting data, and demonstrated experience in compiling and assisting in reconciliation of third‑party billing.

Certification(s)

Technician II:
Certifications with AAPC (Certification Professional Biller, etc.) and/or HFMA (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative, etc.)

  • Submission of all required employment‑related documents, applications, resumes, references, and other required information free of false, misleading, or incomplete information, as determined by TCRHCC
Mental and Physical Effort Physical

The work is primarily sedentary with the following physical requirements: ability to lift, push and pull up to 100 pounds occasionally, ability to maintain prolonged sitting, frequent standing and walking, occasional driving, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, twisting, maintaining balance, and reaching. Ability to pick up objects from the floor without restrictions and full use of both hands and arms for occasional simple and firm grasping, fine manipulation, and prolonged use of keyboard.

Sensory requirements include occasional need for far, near, and color vision, depth perception, seeing fine details, hearing normal speech, hearing overhead pages, and frequent telephone use.

Mental

The incumbent applies specific rules, regulations, or procedures to perform a full range of related accounting and technical tasks, duties and assignments that are identified in Patient Financial Services third‑party collection process. Completes transactions by reviewing documents for missing information, searching records and files, verifying and maintaining records of transactions, and answering routine procedural questions.
