POSITION DESCRIPTION

• Bachelor of Science and/or at least 5 years of work experience in a specialized CTE career
• A valid Arizona CTE teaching license
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required

Effective education of all students for whom the teacher is responsible.

• Pursue professional study in the teaching field and stay current with industry developments.
• Work for continuous improvement of instruction.
• Maintain a systematic plan for organization and presentation of daily teaching.
• Prepare and keep lesson plans and outlines available for use by substitutes and reference by other teachers, department heads, and administrators.
• Assure student utilization of prescribed resources.
• Work with department heads and administration to organize and improve courses of study and curriculum.
• Keep complete and accurate records of student grades; maintain the roll book according to specified forms and subject it to audit.
• Maintain seating charts and special duty assignments in the class book for substitute use.
• Give prompt and careful attention to routine classroom activities, student health, furniture care, attendance, lighting, and ventilation.
• Submit HS and CTE reports as required, in a timely manner.
• Address individual differences of pupils.
• Discipline classroom control to promote learning, maintaining a positive environment.
• Counsel students and contact parents when necessary.
• Cooperate with counselor on cases requiring special attention.
• Help supervise the conduct and welfare of all students on school premises and during school activities.
• Help care for and protect the school environment.
• Help stimulate and support student learning and participation.
• Work through proper procedures and keep assigned students under direct supervision.

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the Board's policy on the Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
