The Senior Grant Accountant is responsible for managing the financial accounting and reporting of grant-funded programs, ensuring compliance with grant agreements, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements. This role oversees grant budgeting, reconciliations, financial analysis, and audit support while partnering with program leaders to monitor funding and expenditures.

• Prepare and analyze grant-related financial reports and funding reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with grant terms, federal/state regulations, and internal controls.
• Support system implementations, process improvements, and financial reporting enhancements.
• Maintain accurate grant accounting records within Sage accounting software.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to create reports, perform data analysis, and develop financial models.
• Assist with audits, budget preparation, grant invoicing, and revenue recognition.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including grant accounting preferred in a non-profit environment.
• Experience with Sage ERP/accounting systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query, complex formulas).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and financial reporting skills.
• The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, forecasting and budgeting, and customer billing. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset.
