Job Purpose
Own the most complex, highest-spend categories in the tower — categories with volatile pricing, global supply bases, or multi-year strategic agreements that require sophisticated negotiation. Set the benchmark for how sourcing work is accomplished and informally develop Sourcing Managers (SMs). Deliver consistent above-target savings on complex categories.
Essential Functions
- Advanced Category Strategy & Execution
- Own multi-year strategies for the most complex categories — market analysis, supply risk assessment, cost modeling, and multi-year sourcing roadmap
- Lead sophisticated RFx events — multi-round negotiations, complex bid structures, strategic partnership agreements, and long‑term supply contracts
- Negotiate framework agreements and long‑term supply contracts with favorable pricing, volume commitments, and risk‑sharing provisions
- Lead cross‑category consolidation opportunities — identify suppliers serving multiple indirect categories and build the business case for consolidation
- Maintain the tower's highest‑priority supplier relationships at an executive level — conduct strategic reviews, manage escalations, and negotiate partnership terms
- Informally mentor Sourcing Managers in the tower — review their category strategies, coach their negotiation preparation, and develop their commercial instincts
- Share market intelligence broadly — proactively brief the tower on supply dynamics, pricing trends, and risk signals that affect other categories
- Serve as the Sr. Director's first call on complex category questions — provide analysis and recommendations that inform tower strategy
- Represent the tower in cross-functional meetings where deep category expertise is required
- Performance & Savings Delivery
- Deliver above‑target savings consistently — 3+ consecutive years is the baseline expectation
- Maintain the most sophisticated savings tracking in the tower — methodology documented, Finance‑aligned, and defensible in an EVP review
- Contribute meaningfully to the procurement scorecard — own the tower's highest‑impact savings line items
- Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned

- CPSM, CSCP, or related certification preferred
- 5+ years of sourcing experience with demonstrated depth in complex category management
- Consistent above‑target savings delivery across multiple years on complex, high‑spend categories
- Deep expertise in multiple indirect spend categories with proven cross‑category consolidation or strategic sourcing experience

- Experience with SAP, Appian, or similar procurement systems preferred
