Students must be a part of the school's Co-op/Intern Program with a 2.7 GPA and can work 40 hours a week for 14 weeks in the Spring. This is not a remote position. Please submit an Unofficial Transcript along with a Resume when applying.
The System Reliability Co-op assists the engineers in System Reliability and other departments with project justifications and the handling of remote data with the goal of improving the reliability of Georgia's Integrated Transmission System (ITS). These duties include, but are not limited to:
- running FALLS lightning studies to determine the cause of outages
- publishing and saving sustained outage reports
- tracking the performance of motor operated switches and fault indicators
- compiling outage histories for both circuits and substations
System Reliability provides Co-ops with the freedom to improve and expand current department procedures and encourages the exploration of the roles of other departments at GTC and the Family of Companies.
