The Controller is responsible for managing all accounting operations including cash management, A/R, A/P, G/L, Payroll, inventory/cost accounting, revenue recognition, and all aspects of financial management, planning, reporting, systems, and controls to accurately reflect profit and drive improvements. The successful candidate will be hands‑on and can provide leadership and look at opportunities for cost savings, along with process and system improvements.

This position is based onsite out of DGSI’s facility in Tucker, GA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform as an expert in all aspects of financial planning, reporting, controls and administration;
  • Preparation of periodic financial statements in accordance with GAAP;
  • Manage all plant accounting functions related to cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, etc;
  • Develop and maintain standard production cost models and perform audits to determine accuracy;
  • Provide financial services to support all departments to assist them in areas of purchasing, inventory, costing, budgeting and understanding of financial statements;
  • Analyze variances and communicate explanations to management with recommended actions;
  • Work closely with the General Manager as an advisor and partner, providing analytical and fact‑based recommendations to make informed decisions to improve plant margins and develop and support for short and long‑term operational strategies;
  • Coordination and preparation of schedules for the annual audit with the Company's Independent Public Accountants and Tax Advisor;
  • Establish and maintain internal accounting and operational controls over revenue recognition, expense management, and effective measurement and control over all assets;
  • Manage monthly and quarterly sales tax returns;
  • Ensure the accuracy of physical inventory and controlling the flow of raw materials, tools, and other assets within a manufacturing environment;
  • Prepare the annual budget and quarterly forecasts;
  • Manage the month‑end closing process and provide daily and weekly flash reports;
  • Consolidation and Foreign Currency Translation;
  • Help drive and support the ERP conversion team as it migrates from Great Plains to Acumatica;
  • Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust, productivity, and accountability.
Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA, CMA or MBA preferred;
  • 3-5 years Controller experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment;
  • Global accounting and multi‑currency experience;
  • Broad understanding of business issues, metrics, organizational linkages, and customer value;
  • Ability to build partnerships across and between functional groups and lead a project or participate on a technical team;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, essential in dealing with people at all levels and in a variety of functions; able to influence and motivate others to quickly achieve results;
  • Self‑confident, ability to accept and respond to challenges in a positive manner;
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively present complex topics in a concise manner;
  • Multiple ERP package experience (Acumatica and/or Great Plains a plus);
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing is beneficial but not required;
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to constructively resolve conflicts;
  • Some Travel may be required;
  • Work extended hours as needed
