Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC) is seeking an Information Technology Operations Intern to support enterprise technology operations and initiatives. This opportunity provides broad, hands‑on exposure to the systems, cybersecurity, data, applications, service management, and support processes that help GSOC deliver reliable and effective technology services within the electric utility industry.

As an Information Technology Operations Intern, you will work alongside experienced technology professionals while contributing to meaningful projects and recurring operational activities. Based on business priorities and your academic background, interests, and technical readiness, you may support technology assets, IT service management, documentation, reporting, data analysis, cybersecurity, automation, or process improvement initiatives.

As an Information Technology Operations Intern, you will support projects and recurring activities that contribute to technology reliability, operational efficiency, security awareness, service delivery, and continuous improvement.

• Support technology projects, operational initiatives, and recurring departmental activities based on business priorities.
• Assist with hardware, software, application, and technology asset inventory activities.
• Help update technical documentation, knowledge base articles, process guides, and standard operating procedures.
• Assist with IT service management activities, including incident, change, request, and asset management processes.
• Participate in technology troubleshooting, issue documentation, reporting, and problem-resolution efforts under appropriate supervision.
• Support reporting, data analysis, dashboard development, or data-quality projects as assigned.
• Contribute to cybersecurity awareness, compliance, automation, scripting, workflow, or process improvement initiatives based on department needs.
• Organize project findings and communicate progress, questions, or barriers while collaborating with technical and business partners.
• Present a summary of your projects, accomplishments, outcomes, and key learnings at the conclusion of the assignment.

• Current enrollment in a degree program in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, ora related field.
• Interest in technology operations, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, analytics, infrastructure, applications, or IT service delivery.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to organize information and approach unfamiliar technology challenges thoughtfully.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, complete, and well-organised work.
• Ability to document processes and communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and business partners.
• Comfort learning new technologies and tools and applying feedback to improve your work.
• Strong organization and time-management skills, including the ability to manage assignments, meet deadlines, and communicate progress.
• A dependable, collaborative, and learning-oriented approach to working in a professional technology environment.

• Coursework, labs, academic projects, certifications, or hands-on experience involving information systems, programming, databases, networking, cybersecurity, analytics, systems, technical support, or process improvement.
• Exposure to Microsoft Office, Windows, databases, reporting tools, IT service management, technology asset management, or technical documentation.
• Interest in how enterprise technology services support business operations and critical infrastructure.

• Coursework, projects, or experience involving data analysis, reporting, dashboards, scripting, automation, workflow improvement, or process mapping.
• Ability to review detailed information,identify gaps or improvement opportunities, and develop practical recommendations.
• Interest in using technology, data, and documentation to improve service quality, efficiency, and business outcomes.
