Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC) is seeking three Technology Interns for its Summer 2027 internship program. This flexible opportunity is designed for students pursuing Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

The three interns may gain exposure across multiple technology areas, work together on shared projects, or remain focused on assignments aligned with their respective skills and interests. Final assignments will be based on business priorities, project needs, academic background, technical readiness, and opportunities for meaningful contribution.

Projects may involve software development, application enhancements, data analysis and visualization, automation, integrations, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, or technology modernization efforts that support GSOC and the electric utility industry.

This opportunity is ideal for curious, hands-on students who enjoy solving problems, learning new technologies, collaborating with others, and turning business needs into practical technical solutions.

Depending on your assigned focus area and project needs, you may work independently, partner with other interns, or collaborate across technology teams.

• Assist with designing, developing, testing, debugging, and documenting software applications, scripts, APIs, or integrations.
• Support application enhancements, automation, workflow improvements, and process modernization initiatives.
• Analyze data, improve data quality, create reports or dashboards, and communicate findings to technical and business partners.
• Participate in cybersecurity activities such as security documentation, vulnerability or risk analysis, access reviews, awareness efforts, and control improvement projects.
• Explore and support emerging AI-enabled solutions, including automation, intelligent assistants, AI agents, and secure integrations with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, as appropriate to assigned projects and GSOC technology standards.
• Work with databases, cloud platforms, source control, APIs, reporting tools, and enterprise applications as appropriate to assigned projects.
• Help gather requirements, document processes, create technical documentation, and support solution-design discussions.
• Collaborate with other interns, experienced technology professionals, and business partners to understand needs and deliver usable solutions.
• Organize project findings, communicate progress and barriers, and present a summary of accomplishments and key learnings at the conclusion of the assignment.

• Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Interest in one or more of the following areas: software development, data and analytics, cybersecurity, cloud technology, enterprise applications, automation, integrations, AI-enabled solutions, or technology modernization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down unfamiliar problems and learn quickly.
• Basic programming, data analysis, or technical coursework appropriate to your area of study.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, complete, and well-organized work.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain work, ask thoughtful questions, and document outcomes.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with fellow interns, and partner effectively with technical and business professionals.
• Strong organization and time-management skills, including the ability to manage assignments and meet deadlines.
• A dependable, collaborative, and learning-oriented approach to working in a professional technology environment.

• Exposure to web development, APIs, databases, cloud platforms, Git or other source-control tools, testing, or software development practices.
• Interest in building and improving business applications, integrations, automations, or digital workplace solutions.

• Coursework or project experience involving data analysis, statistics, data visualization, SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
