Wire Room Associate – immediate opening at Tucker, GA distribution center. We are looking for dedicated and team-oriented individuals to join our team.
Job Type: Hourly
Day/Shift: 2nd Shift
Function: The position is responsible for safely completing all aspects of wire cutting and warehouse functions including storing, handling, shipping, and preparation of product for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in a clean and orderly fashion.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safely and accurately coil, respool, cut, or pick designated lengths of wire per procedure.
- Safely operate all necessary equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, and coil/reel machines, according to manufacturer, health & safety, training, and procedural standards.
- Submit/communicate wire cutting tool and machinery maintenance issues.
- Verify the quantity and description of materials processed by checking merchandise against the work order.
- Accurately place materials & reels of wire on shelves, in racks, or other designated storage areas, in an accurate and orderly manner.
- Report/record any discrepancies to wire room leadership.
- Review orders to determine they were picked correctly.
- Attach identifying tag or labels to materials.
- Other duties assigned by management.
- Basic reading skills
- Must be able to read order/match orders on shipping tickets to items picked.
- Be able to identify products by size, type, style, color, product code, and Lot#.
- Basic math skills and reasoning skills.
- Ability to understand and execute instruction.
- Essential customer service and communication skills.
- General understanding of the warehouse.
- Willing to learn and work in a team environment.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Experience is a plus.
- Ability to read, comprehend and write simple instructions in English.
- Ability to move/lift up to 75 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to withstand temperatures of a typical warehouse environment.
- Ability and desire to learn warehouse and company operations.
