Cogent Technology Resource is seeking a highly organized and dependable Project Asset Coordinator to manage technology equipment and materials moving through our warehouse. Our inventory may include computers, LCD displays, medical carts, mounting systems, audiovisual equipment, cables, hardware, and small accessories. Individual items may range in value from a few dollars to more than $20,000.
The Project Asset Coordinator must ensure that every item is received, inspected, documented, stored securely, assigned to the correct project, and released only with proper authorization. Additional asset responsibilities are listed below. The workplace setting is in a traditional warehouse environment. Asset protection is the primary responsibility and requires extensive documentation and understanding of project SOWs and workflow. All work associated with this role is completed by the Project Asset Coordinator;
there is no team that reports to or supports this position.
- Follow the SOP for this function and ensure the standards are upheld to 100% compliance.
- Maintain full control over all assets needed for the project as well as maintaining stock items needed for deployment.
- Receive and verify incoming equipment against packing slips, project lists, and purchase records.
- Inspect computers, LCD displays, and other electronic equipment within applicable return periods.
- Document damaged, missing, incorrect, or defective equipment immediately.
- Track equipment by customer, project, quantity, model number, serial number, and status.
- Keep high‑value, customer‑owned, damaged, returned, and project equipment clearly separated.
- Stage complete equipment packages for installation teams.
- Verify technicians receive the correct computers, displays, cables, brackets, accessories, and hardware.
- Document all equipment leaving or returning to the warehouse.
- Maintain clear delivery, pickup, and chain‑of‑custody records.
- Perform inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, secure, labeled, and organized warehouse.
- Communicate shortages, damage, project concerns, and inventory issues quickly and clearly.
This person must always know:
- What equipment we have.
- Where it is located.
- Which customer or project it belongs to.
- Who received or removed it.
- Whether it is new, used, damaged, returned, surplus, or ready for installation.
- What documentation supports its movement.
No equipment should leave the warehouse without clear identification, authorization, and documentation.
Communication and DocumentationStrong communication is essential.
This position requires frequent communication with project coordinators, technicians, supervisors, purchasing personnel, customers, and management.
The successful candidate must be able to:
- Write clear and professional emails.
- Report problems immediately.
- Accurately enter model numbers, serial numbers, quantities, and project information.
- Ask questions when equipment ownership, condition, destination, or status is unclear.
- Follow up until discrepancies are resolved.
Candidates may be required to complete a basic typing, written communication, spreadsheet, and attention‑to‑detail assessment.
Required Qualifications- At least three years of experience in inventory control, asset management, project coordination, logistics, technology operations, or a similar role.
- Touch typing keyboarding skills of over 55 wpm (candidates will be tested).
- Experience being responsible for valuable company or customer assets.
- Must be able to lift 55 lbs.
- Work in a non‑traditional environment with ample walking and standing.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, inventory systems, and basic business software.
- Ability to read packing slips, equipment lists, model numbers, and serial numbers.
- Ability to manage assets for multiple projects and priorities.
