Under general supervision and administrative direction, the Accounts Receivable Supervisor oversees and performs accounts receivable, revenue accounting and related financial functions in support of the Tucson Airport Authority (TAA) at Tucson International Airport (TUS) and Ryan Airfield (RYN). This position is responsible for managing the accounts receivable cycle, ensuring accurate and timely billing and collections, supporting month end close activities and providing leadership and guidance to accounts receivable staff.
Essential Functions:
The following functions and all other functions not included in this job description are to be performed in the best interests and for the greater good of TAA.Support and advocate for TAA’s Mission, Vision, and Guiding Principles and act as a champion and role-model of TAA’s Cultural Fundamentals.
Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of billings to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with executed lease agreements and other revenue generating agreements.
Review billing calculations and supporting activity data to confirm charges are consistent with contract terms.
Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations for accounts receivable as part of the month-end and year-end close for assigned receivable accounts.
Monitor and reconcile tenant account balances to ensure receivables are accurately stated and supported by billing and collection activity.
Review application of cash receipts to ensure payments are accurately posted to accounts and reflected in the general ledger.
Resolve billing inquiries and account discrepancies through research, coordination with internal departments, and communication with tenants.
Provide supervision, leadership and coaching to Accounts Receivable Specialist, including performance management and workload oversight.
Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis upon request.
Is responsive to airport emergencies and situations that may involve loss of human life or property; support public safety and operational response to emergencies; utilize Incident Command System (ICS)/National Incident Management System (NIMS) protocols and procedures; coordinate and/or participate in after-action emergency de-briefing with appropriate departments and stakeholders.

Position Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting.
Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible accounts receivable experience, including responsibility for recurring customer billings, account reconciliations, and maintenance of accurate customer account balances.
Two (2) years of supervisory/managerial experience. Experience working with contracts or lease agreements from a billing and revenue recognition perspective, including interpreting billing terms and resolving discrepancies.
Intermediate MS Excel skills are required, advanced experience preferred.
A combination of education and additional years of comparable experience sufficient to demonstrate the ability to meet the demands of the position may be substituted for the above position requirements.

Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) accounting and financial reporting standards
Microsoft Excel General ledger or ERP software
Advanced analytical skills
General ledger account and bank reconciliations
Skill to:
Make strong organizational recommendations, utilizing oral and written communication, proofreading, and critical thinking skills.
Prepare analytical reports and studies.
Perform applicable statistical and mathematical analysis.
Ability to:
Environmental Requirements Work primarily in a typical, temperature controlled administrative office setting in a semi-enclosed workspace.
