SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support the Director of Hotel Finance in overseeing the organization’s financial operations, accounting functions, budgeting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting. This position ensures accurate financial information, regulatory compliance, effective cash management, and sound fiscal decision-making. This role offers the opportunity to grow within the company and gain valuable experience in various aspects of accounting and finance.

Essential Functions:
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, reconciliations, and cash management.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Performs reconciliations and monitor/manage reconciliations for accuracy.
  • Review financial transactions for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization.
  • Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Coordinate audit activities and prepare schedules, documentation, and responses for external auditors.
  • Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, systems, and reporting processes.
  • Provide financial guidance and analysis to department heads and senior leadership.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate finance department personnel.
  • Assist with special projects, financial analyses, system implementations, and process improvements.
  • Assist the Director of Hotel Finance with the management of daily accounting and finance operations.
  • Manage the organization’s productivity project, including coordinating implementation, monitoring progress, tracking outcomes, and reporting results to leadership.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Cross trains in other areas and assists in covering these areas when there are staffing shortages.

  • Is able to do problem solving and resolve issues relating to Accounts Payable and to assist others as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

3-5 years of hospitality industry accounting. Experience with systems and software such as Excel, Markview, Oracle, Resort Suites and Outlook. Must be proficient in spreadsheet design.
