The Accountant performs a variety of professional accounting duties, including the examination, analysis, reconciliation, and maintenance of financial records. This role ensures accuracy, compliance with applicable regulations, and timely reporting to support effective financial decision-making. The Accountant may also perform related work as required.
Corporate office in Tucson, AZ.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or related field is required.
- CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
- A minimum of two years of accounting experience.
- Experience with in the mortgage industry is preferred.

This is a fully on-site position, based at our Corporate office in Tucson, AZ.
Evolving as a Accountant by having…- Reconcile bank accounts daily and promptly report variances to the manager.
- Reconcile credit line asset and liability accounts monthly, ensuring discrepancies are identified and communicated.
- Perform a variety of General Ledger reconciliations, including payroll, prepaids, accruals, impounds, trust, and fixed assets.
- Review and post daily transactions to the General Ledger and applicable sub-ledgers.
- Review Accounts Payable entries and GL postings for accuracy and completeness.
- Support the month-end and year-end financial close processes.
- Conduct financial and accounting analyses with a focus on balance sheet accounts and profit and loss variances.
- Prepare ad hoc reports and assist with special projects as requested.
- Assist the Controller and Senior Accountant with internal and external audits and examinations.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and applicable regulations.
- Perform accounting tasks related to subsidiaries, intercompany activity, property taxes, sales and use tax, and other assignments.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.
- Assist with system implementations, upgrades, and testing related to accounting and reporting.
- Research, resolve, and clearly communicate complex accounting issues.
- Provide accounting guidance and support to other departments regarding financial transactions and policies.
