Position Description

Office Administrator supports and advances a sustainable office ministry at Catalina United Methodist Church (CUMC) and serves as bookkeeper. 40 hours per week. Exempt. Salary BOE.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Business Administration or Accounting. Bachelor’s degree or greater preferred.
  • Experience as a cheerful team player with staff members and other volunteers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technology skills with a minimum of Microsoft Office experience, including Excel, Publishing software, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with church management software Breeze and Quick Books.
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing material, while juggling multiple competing tasks/demands, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Effectively handle sensitive and confidential information or situations. Position requires high degree of diplomacy, discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Willingness to learn new technology and additional office skills.
  • AZ fingerprint clearance may be required, background check for selected candidate, and bondable.
Responsibilities
  • Answer phones and greet visitors.
  • Coordinate and maintain the church calendar.
  • Facility Management for internal and external groups.
  • Bookkeeping, payroll, and managing employee benefits.
  • Maintain church membership records as Membership Secretary.
  • Work with church volunteers and staff to produce church publications, communication materials, and other media (website, social media).
  • Maintain office functions.
  • Participate in staff meetings and arrange for the office to be covered during meetings.
Compensation

The Office Administrator is a salaried employee. The base salary range is 48k (with benefits) to 53k (if benefits not needed) annually BOE.

Supervision
  • The Office Administrator is subject to all policies in the CUMC Employee Handbook.
