FLSA STATUS: Part-Time – Non-Exempt
HOURS: Monday through Thursday – 8:00 am to 3:30
SALARY: Very Competitive – Hourly Wage
LOCATION: Tucson, AZ
Position SummaryThe Director of First Impressions serves as a welcoming and compassionate representative of the ministry, reflecting the love of Christ in every interaction with constituents, visitors, and staff. This role is often the first voice or face encountered and plays a vital part in creating an atmosphere of warmth, prayerful care, and excellence. The position ensures the reception area is covered during regular business hours, greets and registers all on-site visitors, manages a high-volume multi-line phone system, and responds to inquiries with wisdom, patience, and discernment.
The ideal candidate is spiritually grounded, works independently, and is committed to serving others in a Christ-honoring manner.
- Serve as a Christlike liaison between constituents and staff, representing the ministry with humility, grace, and professionalism.
- Open and/or close the lobby and reception area in accordance with daily schedules and procedures.
- Receive, screen, and route all incoming calls with kindness, clarity, and prayerful attentiveness.
- Provide accurate information about the ministry by navigating internal resources and the ministry website or directing inquiries to the appropriate staff member.
- Greet and direct all on-site visitors in accordance with established ministry procedures.
- Receive and properly record walk-in donations with integrity and discretion.
- Assist in maintaining and updating the Front Desk Procedure Manual.
- Order, stock, and steward office and reception supplies responsibly.
- Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with internal teams and external constituents.
- Review and edit prayer requests for clarity and reverence prior to posting on the Prayer Wall.
- Respond to prayer requests and emotionally heavy conversations with compassion, empathy, and a Christ-centered heart.
- Collect and distribute daily mail and assist with outgoing mail procedures.
- Support other departments with mail and administrative tasks as requested
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in reception, customer service, or a related role.
- Experience operating a multi-line phone system. Education and Experience preferred.
- Preferred experience in non-profit or ministry-based environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and general internet navigation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills grounded in kindness and respect.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of sound, prayerful decision-making.
- Demonstrates patience, active listening, discernment, and emotional intelligence.
- Able to interact compassionately and professionally with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
- Demonstrates a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ through attitude, speech, and actions.
- Integrates Biblical principles and a Christian worldview into all aspects of work and service.
- Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
