Definition
Under the general supervision of the Director of Career and Technical Education, the Lead Career & Technical Education District Data Specialist coordinates district wide CTE data quality, compliance, reporting, travel, assessments, industry certifications, inventory, and related operations. The position supports site CTE Data Quality Specialists and works with District staff, Pima JTED, the Arizona Department of Education, and other partners to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant information and documentation.

Districtwide Data and Compliance- Coordinates collection, verification, reconciliation, and reporting of district wide CTE student and program data.
- Serves as the lead resource for site CTE Data Quality Specialists, providing guidance, training, technical assistance, and coordination regarding procedures, reporting requirements, and deadlines.
- Develops and maintains a district wide CTE calendar for ADE, Perkins, JTED, assessment, industry certification, CCRI, enrollment, audit, travel, and other deadlines.
- Monitors enrollment, course sequencing, concentrator and completer status, program participation, technical skills assessments, industry credentials, work-based learning, and other performance indicators.
- Reviews and reconciles records across District, ADE, and JTED systems; identifies discrepancies; and coordinates corrections before reporting deadlines.
- Works with registrars, counselors, teachers, administrators, and site specialists to ensure students are properly enrolled, coded, scheduled, and reported.
- Prepares reports, summaries, dashboards, and presentations for the Director of CTE and District leadership.
- Assists with the Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment, Perkins applications, grant reporting, program reviews, improvement plans, and other accountability requirements.
- Coordinates industry credential and technical skills assessment reporting and monitors CTE-related College and Career Readiness Indicator opportunities.
- Maintains organized documentation for ADE monitoring, audits, and reported information.
- Serves as the central coordinator for student and staff CTE travel requests submitted by site specialists.
- Reviews requests for completeness, accuracy, required documentation, funding, and compliance with District and CTE procedures.
- Coordinates requests through District approval and final closeout; maintains a tracking system for required checkpoints and deadlines.
- Coordinates travel for CTSO conferences and competitions, leadership activities, field trips, work-based learning, industry visits, professional development, and other approved activities.
- Resolves missing documentation and errors with site specialists before requests advance.
- Tracks travel requiring Governing Board approval and supports timely submission.
- Coordinates transportation, registration, lodging, purchase orders, reimbursements, additional duty documentation, and other requirements with District departments.
- Verifies funding sources with the Director of CTE and maintains supporting records.
- Communicates status, outstanding requirements, approvals, and deadlines to site specialists and program staff.
- Maintains centralized records and assists with reconciliation and closeout, including receipts, invoices, reimbursements, and purchase order documentation.
