The Royal Automotive Group has a unique opportunity at one of our Collision Centers for an Estimator.

The Estimator is responsible for inspecting vehicle damage to determine cost of repair for insurance claim settlement, while managing their time to follow the proper channels in relaying information to management as necessary.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, an unrestricted driver’s license, a clean driving record, at least 2 years of dealer‑level or equivalent experience, and a strong professional work‑ethic.

• Examines damaged vehicle to determine extent of structural, body, mechanical, or interior damage.
• Estimates cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item.
• Estimates time needed for repairs and informs customers.
• Reviews repair cost estimates with body shop manager or foreperson.
• Orders LKQ and after‑market parts.
• Determines feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts, such as bumpers, fenders, and doors.
• Contacts insurance company on possible total vehicle loss.
• Maintains contact with customers regarding repair updates and pick‑up times.
• MARGINAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• In the event of a disagreement with manager or foreperson on repair cost, arrange to have damage appraised by another appraiser to resolve the situation.
• Evaluates practicality of repair as opposed to payment of vehicle market value before accident.
• Prepares insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations.
• Estimates cost of repainting, converting to special purposes, or customizing undamaged vehicles.

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must have at least 1 year experience and/ or training
• Some auto body experience and/or tech school desired
• Must have a passion and aptitude for collision repair technologies
• Must have an impressive work ethic
• Neat, clean, and professional appearance
• Must have an unrestricted driver’s license and clean driving record
• Must be able to operate a standard‑transmission vehicle
