Senior Contract Management & Controlling Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Contract Management & Controlling Specialist to champion execution of our licensing and other agreements post-signing. In this highly cross-functional role, you will serve as the crucial bridge between our external partners and key internal stakeholders, including the Legal, Patent, global and local Finance departments as well as our affiliates.
As our internal subject matter expert, you will drive holistic contract compliance, oversee royalty and other reporting obligations to partners, provide visibility on agreements to internal stakeholders, and provide critical support in resolving contractual disputes.
The actual title will be Contract Management & Controlling Lead once hired.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management
- Agreement Analysis:
Thoroughly assess executed agreements to identify key financial and non-financial obligations, ensuring they are accurately captured and maintained in our centralized licensing system (eBDS). - Execution Monitoring:
Proactively manage and oversee the end-to-end fulfillment of contractual obligations, both internally and externally. - Dispute Resolution and Legal Support:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and provide data and expert assistance in the event of contractual disputes or necessary legal actions.
Controlling
- Guidance:
Provide technical or procedural guidance to staff on use of templates and database systems used for documentation of royalty obligations both financial and non-financial - Obligation Management:
Identify and determine financial obligations during the development phase and at time of product launch by working with key stakeholders across Legal, Patents, Business and Finance. Review obligation inputs within the licensing/partnering tracking database to ensure Roche products are accurately identified and linked to licensed patents and in-licensed materials. Monitor upcoming obligations, provide line of sight and coordinate seamlessly with Finance to ensure timely payments to licensors.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Finance, Legal, Business, etc.) is required; a Master's degree is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional work experience within a Finance/Controlling or Patent/Legal environment.
- This is an individual contributor/subject-matter expert role (no direct people or budget management responsibilities).

Strong analytical skills paired with a natural flair for numbers and financial scrutiny. - Technical Proficiency:
Strong working knowledge of the MS Office suite and Google Workspace. - Work Style:
You are highly exact, diligent, proactive, and self-driven in your approach to work. - Project Management:
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the agility to handle multiple agreements and overlapping deadlines simultaneously.
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Tucson, AZ is between $77,700 - $144,300. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
