Raytheon has multiple openings for Manager, Contracts supporting the Advanced Effectors & Space (AE&S) Sub-Strategic Business Unit (SSBU) within Raytheon's Advanced Technology Strategic Business Unit (SBU), which focuses on key pursuits as well as development efforts that serve as the growth engine and front end of the business, critical to the future growth of Raytheon. Primary responsibilities will include supporting program execution, leading key pursuits, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, providing contractual guidance, developing Intellectual Property strategies and novel contracting approaches.

Successful candidates would possess the following attributes: strong experience in risk assessment and negotiations, excellent business acumen and communication skills, experience in DoD and international contracting while providing contractual and business guidance to program management leadership.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with the Portfolio Directors, Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Business/Estimating, and Supply Chain to manage successful execution of contracts.
  • Provide guidance to senior management regarding contractual and business issues, rights and obligations, and risk mitigation.
  • Recognize business and contractual issues in program performance and help implement solutions; carry out tasks to completion while exercising good judgment with minimal supervision
  • Lead the analysis of RFPs, development of proposals, proposal reviews and coordination, negotiations, administration of contractual agreements, and execution and close out of contracts.
  • Review and analyze Estimates at Completion (EAC) to ensure accuracy and reliability in project forecasting.
  • Coordinate and manage customer responses to ensure timely and effective communication.
  • Negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and conditions to ensure scope is confined.
  • Support program management and execution reviews to monitor progress and performance.
  • Develop strategies for Intellectual Property and investments to drive innovation and growth.
  • Ensure that negotiated terms and conditions comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Travel Requirements are minimal.
  • Please note that this role is designated as on-site and located in Tucson, Arizona.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years' experience
  • Experience in management of complex or varying types of contracts and/or subcontracts such as proposal preparation, contract negotiation for development, production, and/or service contracts in a contract management, finance management, program management, engineering capacity or similar.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Active in-scope Top Secret clearance
  • Contractual acumen with proficiency in contracts fundamentals with knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
  • Strong understanding of financial aspects of contracts, and other business arrangements
  • Familiarity with Other Transaction Agreements, Intellectual Property, license agreements, or teaming agreements
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and develop effective relationships with internal and external customers based on respect and trust
  • Advanced degrees such as MBA, Juris Doctor or related contracts management certifications
