Overview
Live-In House Parents, Youth Group Home. GAP Ministries needs mature, compassionate houseparents with a heart for ministry. At GAP you will provide supervision, structure and assistance in meeting neglected children’s physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs. This opportunity involves serving foster children in a group home in northwest Tucson, Arizona. A $3,500 incentive bonus is offered temporarily and ends March 31, 2026.
WhatYou Will Do
- Provide daily supervision and mentorship to a group of 8 to 10 children/young adults living in the home.
- Work as a team with your husband/wife and your team to create a safe, nurturing environment for children who come from difficult backgrounds.
- Creatively teach basic life skills and Christian values through positive behavior responses and engagement with children, doing homework, cleaning house, doing community activities, etc., either as a family or one-on-one as the needs require.
- Complete daily tasks you might handle in your own home, including meal prep, laundry, transportation, housework, homework, modeling healthy family dynamics, and maintaining a clean, welcoming home.
- Initiate and follow a daily schedule to create structure and stability for the children.
- Collaborate with team members on community activities as families.
- Manage necessary paperwork involved in the role.
- Experience working or volunteering with youth.
- Be physically fit to keep up with the children, home, and paperwork.
- Be self-aware, emotionally able to display warmth, and comfortable with active, occasionally frustrated, and disorganized children.
- Comfortable navigating computer and smartphone applications.
- Be willing to engage in our community and participate in outings, trainings, and staff activities.
- Embrace GAP Ministries' mission and core values and love the children placed under your mentorship and care.
- Be flexible with a good sense of humor in challenging situations.
.$80,000/year per couple (approximately $40,000 annually per person) based on a 48-hour work week (3 days at 16 hours/day). Out-of-state relocation assistance bonus is negotiable. After experience with our team, there is a possibility to move to 4 days a week for $50,000 annually per person.

When You Will WorkThree days on with four days off weekly; you must work weekends to accommodate family time and church attendance. You’ll also receive seventeen days of paid leave in the first year.

- Be at least 22 years old to drive the home’s 15-passenger van.
- Provide at least a high school diploma or GED and one year of experience working with children or a related role.
- Successfully pass FBI and interstate criminal history background checks.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and a good 5-year driving record to drive a 15-passenger van.
- Have manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills to perform various physical tasks.
- Be willing to learn GAP’s ways and love the children.
- FBI fingerprint clearance and Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- TB screen, drug screen, and physical examination (fit for duty).
- Must be 22 years old to drive GAP’s 15-passenger vans.
