Sunland Asphalt and Construction, LLC. is seeking an experienced Roller Operator to join our growing team.

Essential Duties
  • Operate the roller and other heavy equipment for paving projects.
  • Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment and machinery.
  • Coordinate and work with contractors, sub‑contractors, and vendors to complete jobs.
  • Serve as a frontline company representative and provide excellent customer service.
  • Work on the ground as needed.
  • Work quickly, productively and safely to meet production goals as outlined by the foreman, superintendent and/or production manager.
  • Follow direction of the foreman and/or superintendent regarding daily production schedule and activities.
  • Advocate safety and follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in job‑site and safety meetings and all company-related training.
  • Work with the foreman or crew leader to ensure the job site is safe and traffic is controlled prior to commencing work.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain constant contact with other equipment operators, truck drivers and general laborers.
  • Invoke Sunland’s core values.
  • Report problems and malfunctioning equipment or machinery to supervisor or shop personnel.
  • Set up and tear down equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a clean job site; pick up all tools and equipment and secure the site each day.
  • Use hand tools such as rakes, shovels, wheel barrels, etc.
  • Perform all other general laborer work as needed.
  • Any and all duties assigned.
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Six months to one year of related experience is preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Willingness to travel to any and all job sites without exception.
  • A current driver’s license is preferred.
  • Clean motor‑vehicle record if operating a company vehicle.
  • Must pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol screening and background check.
