Sunland Asphalt and Construction, LLC. is seeking an experienced and results-driven Estimator to join our growing team.

Sunland is a leading asphalt solutions provider and general contractor known for delivering exceptional quality, reliability, and innovation to its customers. With a reputation built on decades of combined industry expertise, we specialize in a full range of services, including commercial and residential paving, maintenance and repair, seal coating, milling, and large-scale infrastructure projects.

Duties:

• Employee shall perform all duties and responsibilities with Sunland's Core Values at the forefront.
• Responsible for quantifying project amounts and components.
• Understand project/contract sites and restrictions.
• Work directly with Project Consultants to gather the needed information to bid projects accordingly.
• Must be an advocate of safety and follow safety policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the rest of the Estimating team and the Sales team to appropriately bid projects.
• Collect and review proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents in order to prepare and present estimates.
• Analyze proposals and requirements.
• Analyze past performance data and apply towards current bids.
• Solicit and maintain communication with subcontractors and vendors.
• Invoke Sunland's Core Values.
• Identify labor, material and time requirements needed for each project.
• Compute costs by analyzing labor, material and time requirements.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings.
• Use computer software to prepare estimates and supporting documentation.
• Manage personal Company Software estimating queue daily.
• Review bid requirements thoroughly.
• Responsible for cataloging all information, notes and meetings in Company Software.
• Provide weekly estimating recap to the Estimating Manager.
• Serve as front-line Company representative and must provide excellent service to the customer and to the public.
• Follow up with sub-contractors to ensure that bids are received.
• Any and all other duties assigned. Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years estimating experience
• Minimum of five (5) years general construction experience.
• Must be able to read and understand plans/blueprints.
• Must have excellent math skills.
• Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in MS office.
• Must have strong communication and writing skills.
• Must be fluent in English, i.e., must be able to speak, read and write English.
