Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Project Manager/Estimator to lead and support projects from pre‑construction through closeout. The role requires strong estimation, project coordination, and team mentorship in a fast‑paced, growth‑focused environment.
Key Responsibilities- Project Estimator Duties
- Innovative and creative approach to building projects.
- Risk analysis and preparation of estimates in compliance with contract documents.
- Comprehensive understanding of plans, specifications, and scope of work.
- Mentor and supervise Project Engineers/Assistant Estimators on RFPs to sub‑contractors and vendors, quantity take‑offs, subcontractor and vendor quote reviews, and project hand‑off meetings.
- Project Manager Duties
- Attend project meetings and discuss safety, quality, schedule, and productivity.
- Track job cost and provide monthly forecasts; prepare and submit pay applications.
- Finalize unresolved issues and manage change orders.
- Supervise Project Engineers on review of sub‑pay applications, change orders, RFIs, and project closeout documents.
- Perform all other duties assigned, with flexibility for evolving responsibilities.
- Team Support
- Assist all stakeholders (KE&G, sub‑contractors, owners) throughout the project lifecycle.
- Experience in infrastructure projects such as highways, roadways, bridges, underground utilities, earthwork, concrete, and paving.
- Experience in utilities projects including wastewater treatment plants, booster treatment plants, water treatment plants, and reservoir rehabilitation.
- Experience with job‑order contracts (JOC) is preferred.
- Experience with site development and related infrastructure work.
- Familiarity with asphalt work is a plus.
- Demonstrated longevity in previous roles.
- Regularly required to sit, use hands, talk/hear, and operate a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate active construction sites.
- Work both in office and field environments; outdoors in varied weather.
- Exposure to dust, machinery, noise, uneven terrain, and site‑related conditions.
- Occasional extended hours may be necessary to meet project deadlines.
