The University of Arizona Libraries invites applications for a Digital Production Technician to support programmatic digitization efforts at the University of Arizona Libraries, located within the Digital Production Lab in the Digital Preservation and Production Unit of Collection Services.
The UAL digitization program aims to enhance access to collections, preserve materials, support teaching, enable scholarly engagement, and foster community interaction. We seek an enthusiastic and creative colleague to join these efforts, working with a cross-functional team of library professionals.
Under the supervision of the Digitization Services and Lab Manager, the Technician will digitize materials in various physical formats, adhering to national and local best practices for imaging and handling of unique and rare materials with care, accuracy, and security.
The Technician will operate imaging equipment and software to produce high-quality digital surrogates, perform post-processing tasks, and evaluate output quality. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, production-focused, and interested in process improvement. The Technician will contribute to refining imaging workflows collaboratively and will work with stakeholders across the Libraries to manage projects from start to finish.
