Position OverviewA Director at Legacy Learning Community is a key leader responsible for advancing the organization’s mission to remove barriers to learning and provide individualized, flexible, and supportive educational environments for students with diverse needs. This role blends instructional leadership, operational oversight, and relational leadership to ensure that programs are implemented with integrity, consistency, and a clear focus on student growth and long-term success.
Directors translate organizational vision into daily practice. Working in a hands-on capacity, they build and maintain effective systems, lead multidisciplinary teams, and ensure that educational programs are delivered with fidelity, compliance, and responsiveness to the needs of students and families.
Ideal candidate will have experience working with children with autism and the implementation of student IEPs; knowledge of ADE policies and Arizona administrative code related to special education; and a strong understanding of Arizona special education regulations and reporting requirements.
Core Responsibilities Program Leadership and Instructional Oversight- Lead the implementation and ongoing refinement of Legacy Learning Community programs to ensure alignment with organizational values, approved models, and student needs.
- Ensure instructional systems support individualized learning, structured interventions, and meaningful progress for students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
- Use multiple sources of data to monitor student growth, inform instructional decisions, and support continuous program improvement.
- Maintain a learning environment that prioritizes access, dignity, and high expectations for all students.
- Ensure educational practices and documentation align with applicable federal, state, and contractual requirements.
- Oversee systems related to individualized supports, accommodations, progress monitoring, and service delivery.
- Maintain organized, accurate, and audit-ready records that reflect program fidelity and accountability.
- Collaborate with internal leadership and external partners to support appropriate and consistent implementation of services.
- Ensure compliance with IDEA part B requirements.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and support to instructional and support staff.
- Establish clear expectations and systems that promote consistency, professionalism, and shared responsibility.
- Support staff growth through coaching, feedback, and structured collaboration.
- Foster a mission-aligned culture focused on problem-solving, reflection, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a leadership presence for families, ensuring communication is respectful, transparent, and timely.
- Partner with families as active collaborators in supporting student progress and addressing concerns.
- Uphold a family-centered approach that builds trust and reinforces shared commitment to student success.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align program operations with organizational goals and priorities.
- Support sustainable growth by strengthening systems, refining practices, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure responsible use of resources in service of student needs and program quality.
- Contribute to planning, reporting, and organizational learning initiatives.
