This position focuses on supporting and leading Tucson Village Farm's Summer Camp programs, serving youth ages 5-18 through hands-on, experiential learning on our farm, culinary education center, and ropes course setting. The member will play an active role in delivering engaging, age-appropriate camp programming centered on urban agriculture, nutrition, culinary skills, teamwork, leadership development, and environmental education. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, thrives in a fast-paced camp environment, and is passionate about teaching and mentoring youth during the summer months.
Summer camps take place in a hot, dry desert environment, requiring flexibility, stamina, and a positive attitude. Members should enjoy active, outdoor work and interacting with youth in a group setting. A successful member will be enthusiastic, adaptable, dependable, and a strong team player. Members will receive training in arid-land food production, youth development, leadership development, and summer program implementation, with opportunities to grow facilitation and classroom management skills.

Member Duties :
While serving at Tucson Village Farm, the member will primarily support summer camp operations and programming. Leading and assisting with daily summer camp activities for elementary through high-school-aged youth. Teaching hands-on lessons in the gardens, including planting, harvesting, and desert-adapted food production. Supporting and facilitating culinary and nutrition activities at the Culinary Education Center. Assisting with and leading team-building and leadership activities on the ropes course.
Helping maintain a safe and engaging camp environment. Supporting lesson preparation, activity setup, and program logistics. Working collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and fellow members to ensure successful camp experiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with youth & working with the public;
Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions; lift over 50 pounds & work nights & weekends;
Valid Driver's License.
