SUMMARY
The Community Education Helper is responsible for the instruction, care, and development of children ranging from 6 weeks old to pre-kinder and for facilitating communication between staff members assigned to their team. Depending on department needs and program staffing, must be willing to be temporarily reassigned to another school as necessary.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years of age
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
Must have reliable mode of transportation.
Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Six (6) months of childcare experience
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
Bloodborne Pathogen training offered by TUSD Risk Management Department.
12 hours of the Department of Economic Services (DES) health and safety classes (required within 60 days of hire - at no cost to employee.
Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate (required within 60 days of hire).
CPR and First Aid Certification (required within 90 days of hire at employee's expense). Certification must be maintained current during course of employment.
Complete and maintain 18 hours of required state trainings per year.

Schumaker Infant & Early Learning Center - Broadway & Pantano Area
FTE: 1.0 - 8 hours per day
Work Calendar: 12 month
Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
