This is a full-time, on-site role for a Student Disability Access Consultant based in Tucson, AZ. The Student Disability Access Consultant will work directly with students to assess their needs, facilitate accommodations, and ensure equal access to academic programs and campus services. This role involves conducting intake appointments, creating and implementing individualized accommodation plans, and providing ongoing support and guidance to students.
Additional responsibilities include collaborating with faculty and staff to promote awareness of disability services and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and university policies.
- Strong understanding of disability services, accommodations, and applicable laws such as the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act
- Experience in counseling, advising, or supporting students with disabilities
- Excellent communication skills, problem‑solving abilities, and interpersonal skills for working with diverse populations
- Organizational skills for managing multiple student cases and related administrative tasks
- Proficiency in documentation and record‑keeping
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and their application in educational settings is a plus
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Disability Studies, Social Work, or a related field is preferred
- Experience in higher education or a university setting is advantageous
