Position Highlights
This position will work closely with the Director and existing Undergraduate Program Manager in the Office of Curricular Affairs to edit, review, and process new academic program proposals at the graduate level as well as modifications to current graduate programs. This will require attention to detail, timeliness, and a high level of understanding academic programs at the University. This individual will also work closely to review and approve course proposals for the entire campus when needed and will work in consultation with the CA course approval team.
The incumbent will also help support other tasks such as shared governance committees, work with other units in Academic Administration and campus partners.
This position will allow for hybrid work arrangements. Some duties can be performed remotely, but others will require an in-person presence on the Tucson, Arizona campus.

Duties & Responsibilities- Work closely with campus wide graduate departments and the Graduate College as well as internal CA team to collect and track data, provide feedback on market data reports from Lightcast software, curriculum development and structure as well as policies and procedures pertaining to graduate programs undergoing development and/or modification.
- Provide data visualizations. This also entails understanding the various phases of program development and proposal process as well as dates & deadlines, and being able to manage a large workload of proposals in all stages of review.
- Work with and participate in preliminary reviews with leadership in Academic Administration on issues surrounding new program proposals and maintenance of existing programs. This will entail the professional written and verbal delivery of programmatic feedback to department heads, deans, and faculty, requesting updates, and potential denial of academic program proposals.
- Assist in developing relationships with campus partners (Office of the Registrar, AZ International, the Graduate College, UITS Business Analysts, etc.) to reduce duplication of services and provide quality support to academic units developing new courses and new programs.
- Use expertise and knowledge of academic programs and development of such programs to progressively work with the Director and Undergraduate Program Manager in representing Academic Administration on University-wide committees and task forces to advance the institution’s educational mission; review and approve curriculum updates submitted by colleges during the annual fall review period for undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Work in collaboration and close communication with the Course Approval team within CA to review and approve new course submissions, course modifications and inactivation requests as well as contribute to improving processes for all academic program and course reviews.
