Position Summary andJob Responsibilities Position Summary
The Education Technician supports courseware development and instructional systems development (ISD) activities in accordance with Air Force standards. This role develops, reviews, and updates instructional materials and ISD products to support EA-37B/EC-130H/A-10C formal training programs, ensuring technical accuracy, instructional validity, and compliance with the Air Force ISD model as defined in AFM 36 ‑ 2234 and AFH 36 ‑ 2235.
Job Responsibilities- Develop curriculum materials and Instructional Systems Development (ISD) products IAW AFM 36 ‑ 2234 and AFH 36 ‑ 2235.
- Produce, update, and revise courseware supporting academic instruction across applicable training systems.
- Create ISD materials including Lesson Strategy Reports, Instructor Planning Documents, Student Guides, presentations, test materials, and supporting instructional media.
- Conduct courseware reviews to ensure technical accuracy, instructional validity, compliance with formatting and content requirements, and alignment with current directives.
- Implement courseware changes in response to syllabus updates, TO/AFI changes, Urgent Action Directives, and out ‑ of ‑ cycle corrections.
- Maintain master courseware files, ensuring all training products meet government standards and are archived properly.
- Support academic programs by maintaining reference materials, updating courseware inventories, and participating in courseware/curriculum review meetings.
- Collaborate with government Training SMEs and Courseware SMEs to address courseware issues, incorporate corrections, and integrate student feedback.
- Ensure courseware products meet Air Force media standards, technical requirements, and ISD process compliance across all deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications Required
- MUST BE U.S. CITIZEN
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university in an education discipline.
- Completion of three (3) of the following five courses (3 semester hours each):
- Test and Measurement Applications
- Psychology of Learning
- ISD Applications
- Curriculum and Instructional Development
- Evaluation Design Application and Theory (or equivalent courses)
- One-year hands ‑ on experience in curriculum development and the design/production of ISD materials.
- Capable of securing a Secret security clearance.
- Educational emphasis in curriculum development or one year of experience in curriculum development.
- Three years’ experience in training development.
- Experience with computer-based instructional design applications and ADL environments.
- Capable of securing a Top Secret security clearance.
