SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at White Elementary School as an Activity Helper. This part-time position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and is passionate about fostering a positive and engaging environment. The Activity Helper will assist in organizing and supervising recreational activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all students.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist in the planning and implementation of daily activities and programs for students.
- Supervise students during recreational activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Encourage student participation and engagement in various activities.
- Provide support to teachers and staff during special events and programs.
- Help maintain a clean and organized activity area.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding activities and schedules.
- Monitor student behavior and promote positive interactions among peers.
- Assist with setup and cleanup of activities and events.
- Report any concerns or issues regarding student safety or behavior to appropriate staff.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- One (1) year of childcare experience.
- Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
- Must know how to play the violin and/or Folklorico Dance.
- FBI fingerprint background check required.
- Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to pass a background check as required by school policy.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including afternoons and occasional weekends.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus but not required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.

White Elementary School - Drexel & Mission Area
Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.
