A Teacher in the Tucson Unified School District advances student achievement through effective management of the learning environment, including preparing lesson plans, evaluating, and monitoring student performance and progress. Teachers are responsible for maintaining a safe, respectful classroom that creates an environment conducive to optimizing student strengths while simultaneously developing natural curiosity and love of learning.

• Grades Kindergarten – 3rd:
  Arizona Elementary Certificate K‑8 OR Arizona Early Childhood Certificate, Birth to Age‑8
• Grades 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th:
  Arizona Elementary Certificate K‑8
• Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization

• Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students
• Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement

9.5 months – 207 days (212 days for new to district teachers)

Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar for the position.

• Bonillas Basic Curriculum Magnet School – 5th Grade – 1.0 FTE – 7.5 hours per day
• Borman K‑8 (DMAFB) – 2nd Grade (2 positions), 5th Grade (1 position) – 1.0 FTE – 7.5 hours per day
• C.E. Rose K‑8 – 4th Grade – 1.0 FTE – 7.5 hours per day
• Dunham Elementary School – 1.0 FTE – 7.5 hours per day
• Erickson Elementary School – 1.0 FTE – 7.5 hours per day
• Gale Elementary School – 3rd Grade – 1.0 FTE – 7.5 hours per day
• Hudlow Elementary School – 3rd Grade – 1.0 FTE – 7.5 hours per day
• Line weaver Elementary School – 3 positions (3rd, 4th, 5th Grade) – 1.0 FTE – 7.5 hours per day
• Miller Elementary School – 3 positions – 1.0 FTE – 7.5 hours per day
• Robison Elementary School – 3rd & 4th Grade (2 positions) – 1.0 FTE – 7.5 hours per day
• Sam Hughes Elementary School – 5th Grade – 1.0 FTE – 7.5 hours per day
• Steele Elementary School – 1st & 2nd Grade (2 positions) – 1.0 FTE – 7.5 hours per day
• Vesey Elementary School – 1.0 FTE – 7.5 hours per day
• Warren Elementary School – 1.0 FTE – 7.5 hours per day
• Wheeler Elementary School – 2nd Grade – 1.0 FTE – 7.5 hours per day

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.
